About Center

The Department of Research, Development, and Follow-up was established by Decision No. 584 issued by the University's Director on June 11, 1989. The department's name was later changed to the Department of Administrative Development and Training by Decision No. 1491 on October 12, 1998.

After the completion of the organizational structure of the university in July 2019, the name was changed to the "Department of Administrative Development and Human Resources."

Among the main objectives of the department are improving the functional performance and productivity of current and future administrations, enhancing the level of administrative behavior and professional competence of university employees, and strengthening technical and administrative understanding and cooperation between different work centers. The main duties of the department are determined in developing and updating work systems, long-term, medium-term, and short-term planning for administrative processes, evaluating the current situation, identifying weaknesses and strengths, areas needing administrative development, setting up work programs and determining actions needed to transform targeted situations into tangible reality, monitoring the implementation of programs, comparing actual performance with targeted performance, addressing deviations from the path during plan implementation, establishing clear performance measurement standards, and preparing organizational studies to develop administrative structures.

 

Objective

The General Objective of the Administration Development and Human Resource Development Department

To elevate the administrative performance of the university's work centers and develop them administratively by studying and monitoring the administrative organization and structure, assigning staff to supervisory positions, organizing internal and external training courses for university employees, and simplifying work procedures to improve service and raise the educational level. This aims to develop the educational capabilities of university employees by sending them on educational missions.

The Strategic Plan of the Department

The Administration Development and Training Department has derived its strategic plan from the university's strategic plan to support and contribute to its activation. From this perspective, the strategic plan of the department is based on three objectives:

First Objective:

To enhance the efficiency of employees, provide them with new skills, and strengthen their expertise, enabling them to perform their duties with high competence.

Second Objective:

To promote organizational culture in the field of administrative development among the leaders and employees of the university.

Third Objective:

To raise the educational level of the administrative employees at Kuwait University.
